This steep hillside residence with a strong ocean influence, built in the early 1960s, presented severe design limitations. The rod system was used on the stairs to minimize maintenance while the glass system was used on the balconies to preserve the ocean views. A combination of mirror and satin finishes was used for the exterior staircases leading to our glass and rod system on the balconies and a mirror finish was used for the guardrails on the balconies. See the rod gallery for additional photographs of this project.
